About Our Client
Large retailer based in the greater Manchester area looking for an experienced tax manager
Job Description
The successful Group Tax Manager will be responsible for:
- Direct tax filing in other jurisdictions
- Tax forecasting
- Leading the audit relationship for tax with the Group external auditor
- Income tax reporting
- Group transfer pricing policy
- Managing the Group's direct tax risk and leading the tax strategy for the group
- Managing the Relationship with HMRC
- Acting as a key point of contact for ad hoc queries
- External local tax advisor and authority relationships
- Supporting payroll and HR regarding employment tax issues
- Acting as tax lead on strategic projects, often working alongside other departments such as treasury, legal, or finance
The Successful Applicant
The successful Group Tax Manager will have/be:
- Ideally a minimum of 10 years of tax experience
- Previous experience should include corporate tax, transfer pricing, tax reporting and tax governance & risk management (ideally gained from an in-house environment)
- International tax experience
- Experience managing relationships with both external advisors and international tax authorities
- Knowledge of IFRS
- Business change and process improvement experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- An up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations in European territories
- The ability to communicate complex tax issues to non-tax-technical audiences
