The school grew under the leadership of the first two Headteachers – Samuel Pollit and Charles Vernon, who guided the school through the two World Wars and the depression, to emerge into the sixties when it was amalgamated with the Technical School in Beaconsfield Road, to become Southall Grammar Technical School.
