Job description
Team Educate is seeking experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support our teachers in the classroom. We are seeking really reliable and committed individuals who have a genuine care for the children in their care. We are looking for someone who is punctual and very dependable. This position will be a full time role in a large special school in West Cardiff, starting from September.
Requirements:
● Essential: experience of working with children who are autistic or non-verbal who require a multi communicative approach
● Essential: experience in previous SEN setting
You will:
● Be dedicated, inspiring and engaging. Having a genuine care for the children in your support.
● Create a safe, calm and positive environment for the student
● Work under the direction of teachers
● To organise and make appropriate resources to support the pupil
● Have an up to date DBS either with the update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS
● Be able to provide professional references covering the last 5 years
Skills
- Strong people and communication skills with excellent listening skills required. Strong written skills required for all levels of education preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills required.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team required.
