Job description

Retaining UK Ltd is a leading supplier and installer of concrete retaining wall solutions operating in the North East of England. Retaining (UK) provide bespoke retaining wall solutions for residential and commercial developments throughout the UK. With over 60 years’ experience in the ground working and Civil Engineering industry, Retaining (UK) have unique specialities in; Retaining Walls, Precast Concrete Retaining Walls, Bespoke Wall Solutions, Bespoke properties, Residential properties, Commercial properties, and Construction. 

In 2021, Retaining UK joined the Applebridge Family, a group of eight construction companies that offer a wide range of construction disciplines within the residential, commercial, and multi-utility sectors.  They are now looking for a Draughtsman to join their small and friendly team based in Middlesbrough where you will be responsible for:

• Producing 2D drawings using AutoCAD from existing client drawings
• Creating preliminary 2-D drawings of Retaining Walls for use in sales, marketing and contracts
• Using in house software (Bluebeam and Winfloor) to mark-up external levels drawings and design beam and block floors
• Modifying/updating drawings as required
• Producing general arrangements, marking plans and detailed manufacturing drawings for approval.
• Producing material schedules and markups to assist with procurement and working closely with the Estimation to provide timely job pricing 
• Calculating quantities of materials from drawings to assist with purchasing

THE PERSON

• Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within construction 
• Drawing office experience preferred 
• Competent user of Microsoft packages Word and Excel
• Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Commercially aware with he ability to value engineer contracts
• Good presentation and communications skills
• Valid driving licence would be essential
