My client a Leading Medical Device Manufacturer is looking to appoint a Product Engineer with previous Technician experience of assembly, Testing and soldering to IPC 610 standards.

The Product Engineer will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling and testing product to an excellent standard. Additionally, once trained, the calibration and repair of customer equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Product Engineer

Include but not limited to.

• Assemble components accurately, thoroughly and quickly to approved specifications

• To be proficient in the testing, manufacture and repair of Company products

• Assist with weekly stock cycle counts

• Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste

• Assist with the day to day smooth running of the manufacturing production department

• Report on issues, malfunctions or defective parts

• Assist in the design and development of products as required

• Attend team meetings to discuss manufacturing issues and suggestions for improvement

Requirements of the Product Engineer 

• A passion to provide an excellent product

• Able to work independently

• Previous working experience as an Engineering technician within a similar engineering environment with hands on experience of building product

• An ability to perform all tasks necessary to produce a high quality product

• Previous experience of soldering, to IPC standards, and product assembly skills

• A good knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings

• A good understanding of test and repair to component level

• The ability to identify different types of components

• The ability to understand and calculate the combined values of parallel resistors

• Ability to follow established procedures

• Good understanding of Quality Management systems, preferably to ISO13485 standard for Medical Devices

Education

• HND in Engineering or experience of the above

• Ideally 4 years manufacture, assembly, and test experience
