DRIVERS MATE REQUIRED- MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORT DUE TO RURAL LOCATION!
We are currently recruiting for a drivers mate for one of our clients based in Headcorn. As a Driver's Mate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of kitchen products to customers. Working closely with a professional driver, you'll help to navigate the routes, manage paperwork, and ensure the integrity of the products from depot to doorstep. This role is hands-on and requires a team-oriented approach to overcome daily challenges and achieve delivery success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in loading and unloading kitchen units and components, ensuring their safety and security during transit.
- Provide navigational assistance to the driver, ensuring the most efficient routes are taken to meet delivery schedules.
- Conduct pre-delivery checks to ensure all items are accounted for and in perfect condition.
- Liaise with customers upon delivery, handling any queries and ensuring a high level of customer service is maintained.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and complete any necessary reports or feedback forms.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines both on the road and at delivery sites.
- Support the driver in vehicle maintenance checks and ensure the vehicle is clean and presentable at all times.
Requirements:
- A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
- Physical fitness, as the role involves manual handling and lifting.
- Good navigational and geographical knowledge.
- Previous experience in a similar delivery role is preferred but not essential.
- A commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
- Flexibility with work hours, as early starts and occasional late finishes may be required.
