Exciting opportunity for a motivated and flexible Mechanical Engineer to work in an agile company with market leading products. The focus of this role is to complete special purpose designs for UK and European projects. Commercial skills essential to ensure technical & commercial project success.

Mechanical Designer/Project Engineer - The Role:

• Successfully design special purpose machinery projects for clients.
• Review the project proposal and plans timeframe, procedures for accomplishing the projects, staffing requirements and allocation of available resources to various phases of the projects
• Complete commercial and financial accountability, budgets etc
• Negotiate changes to project scope or specification with the customer, follow change management process to identify and approve modifications to scope, cost, schedule and quality
• Pursue and develop opportunities for innovation, such as digitalisation and technology use.
• Work within a multidiscipline team (Layout Engineers, Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Electrical & Automation Engineers, Service Technicians)

Mechanical Designer/Project Engineer - The Person:

• Experience in 3D CAD
• Strong commercial accumen and customer facing skills
• An appropriate mechanical engineering qualification
• Ability & flexibility to travel both nationally & internationally on rare occasions

This role is based in the Norfolk area commutable from Norwich, Bury St Edmonds, Diss, Thetford, Snetterton and Watton.

This role would suit a Mechanical Design Engineer, or Project Engineer looking to develop their career into Project Management. Experience of 3D CAD is essential.
