SEN Teaching Assistant

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Prospero Teaching is looking for a resilient and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant proficient in Key Stage 2-4 support. The learning provision is based in Halifax.

The school is for students in Key Stages 2-4 who have Special Educational Needs. It also offers places for children with an Educational Health and Care Plan (EHCP), some students also have PMLD and the right candidate should be comfortable with personal care.

The position is open to all experienced Teaching Assistants/support workers, but also those with a youth work background or to those who have either mentored or coached. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

- Minimum rate of pay - £85-95 per day
- Hours - 8:30 am - 3.30pm : Mon - Fri (term time only)

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a similar setting
- LEVEL 2 Teaching Assistant/or equivalent and above is preferable
- GCSE Maths and English and Computer literate
- Team Teach Trained (preferable)
- Personal care (preferable)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years
