Severfield Products & Processing Ltd (SPP) is a market leader in modular steel structures and buildings, supplying into the Nuclear, Rail, Power, Data Storage, and Material Handling sectors.
Part of the Severfield Plc, the market leader in structural steel contracting, SPP is growing at a rapid pace with 100% year-on-year growth in its primary product line of industrial modules. SPP is continuously expanding its product range and the markets it supplies into. This requires the recruitment of high quality/high potential candidates to become key members of a growing team.
Due to this growth and expansion, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer to join our team at Severfield (Products & Processing) in Sherburn near Malton.
The role will encompass site evaluation, architectural requirements and engineering design, investigations of any technical problems encountered and provision of economical and viable solutions.
You will work as part of the team producing engineering solutions and calculations, with support from a more senior engineer, when required, provide engineering services as required, for example member design, connection design and temporary works for our Design. You will provide structural designs at tender stage, when required and assist in the development of procedures etc for the standardisation of structural solutions and structural details commensurate with the Company’s manufacturing and erection approach.
A degree in Structural Engineering is desired but we welcome applicants with relevant, on the job experience, who may be working towards a professional engineering qualification.
Working hours will be 8:30am - 17:30pm Monday - Thursday and 8:30am - 15:00pm Friday (30 minutes unpaid break each day). Severfield has a hybrid working policy and this will be discussed at interview with the hiring manager.
