Job description

Head of Maths

Full Time, For September 2023

£MPS/UPS £30,000 - £46,525 subject to annual progression plus TLR1C £15,690

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and high performing Head of Maths Faculty to lead our improving Maths team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and successful Maths teacher with experience of successfully leading change within Maths. The Maths Faculty at Langley is made up of experienced and recently qualified teachers who are united in their passionate desire to do the best by the students they teach. The successfully appointed candidate will have the chance to put their own mark on the faculty, creating a vision for the future direction of Maths at Langley, as well as further extending their leadership experience. We can offer the necessary support and experience to enable you to develop the skills required for the next stage in your career.

We welcome applications from aspiring Senior Leaders and there will be opportunities for the successful candidate to collaborate closely with the senior team, having a significant strategic impact at a whole school level. We want the successful candidate to be a future school leader.

At Langley, we prioritise positive relationships between staff and students. Langley is an exciting place to learn and work. We are incredibly proud of the way our staff and young people work collaboratively to fulfil our school motto ‘to be the best we can be’.

Langley is a wonderful place to work and learn. We are a committed, compassionate community united in our mission to being fully inclusive, celebrating diversity and promoting equality in all that we do. Every learner matters and matters equally at Langley.

We were visited by Ofsted in March 2023 and were graded Good. We are very proud of our inclusive, welcoming school where pupils behave and learn in a calm and purposeful environment.

Our school’s fundamental principles focus on supporting, challenging and inspiring the whole Langley community ‘to be the best that we can be’. But these are not simply words on paper. Students, staff and governors genuinely give all they can, to bring those principles to life every day. Examinations are critically important, of course, and our students achieve superbly well in them, but we truly believe in developing young people to deal with the tests of their lifetime, not merely to endure a lifetime of tests. Everyone who visits us comments on the unique ethos of our school as well as our commitment to inclusivity.

If you are interested in the post and would like to find out more about our school before

applying, please email our Deputy Head, Duncan Carr, at [email protected].
