Job description
Design Engineers obtain information and technical details to create key documentation and schematics for projects. Being able to carry out on-site surveys, designers risk assessments and validation for their projects.
Responsible for the end-to-end design of a project, including site installation design.
Design Engineers will develop Work Packages for the following:
• Site cable management installation.
• Site wiring/cable schedules.
• Control Panel Build.
• Operability requirements to be passed onto Software Engineers.
Tasks under the remit of Design Engineers:
• Site visits when required to collect missing information.
• Production of Device Lists.
• Production of ‘Simple FDS' – smaller projects.
• Production of Load Lists.
• Generation of I/O Lists from EPLAN.
• Produce site layout drawings with positions of equipment and cable routes.
• Produce Designers Risk Assessment.
• Managing of Parts Ordering Lists and Ordering Materials.
• Production of Control Panel Schematics.
• Production of simple Software Brief – were software team complete FDS.
• Production of Operating and Maintenance Manual.
• Arrange control panel PDI with Project Manager.
• Complete UKCA DoI or DoC as appropriate as well as all required TCF material.
• Post project support
