Job description

Are you looking to expand your skills and enhance your career to include providing Complex Clinical Care or do you already have Complex Care experience?

Do you have a special place in your heart for enhancing the lives of the individuals you support?

If you are an experienced Healthcare Assistant looking to expand your skills and knowledge into complex clinical care or if you already have complex care experience, this could be the perfect job role for you!

We are looking for compassionate and committed healthcare assistants in Blackburn, who are passionate about delivering the highest quality one-to-one and two-to-one care for our service user, building positive relationships with them and their family while enabling them to live as independently as possible in her home.

Meet our service user

Our service user is a cheerful young man in his teens who lives with his loving family in Blackburn and requires support throughout the day and night with his complex care needs.

He enjoys listening to music and looking at bright colours, loves to go out socialising and spending quality time with his family and care team. When at home he will relax in bed playing on his iPad and enjoys watching T.V, especially his favourite programme Horrid Henry.

Throughout the day you will provide support with his personal care, moving and handling, attending to his clinical care needs when required and assisting him to enjoy his hobbies and interests.

Throughout the night you will be assisting with his personal care, repositioning, and attending to his clinical interventions. You will need to be vigilant, make close observations, offer reassurance, and comfort, and promote a peaceful environment to support a restful night’s sleep.

His methods of communications do vary through using nonverbal techniques such as via facial expressions, emotion, eye gaze, and making sounds to gain your attention. It is important for his care team to become familiar with his methods of communication to ensure his wants and needs are met effectively.

Our service user has specifically requested for female staff to work on their team.
