Global Mobility & Immigration Manager
Responsible To: Associate Director People Relations and Policy
Department: People
Location: Bury
Hours: Full time 40 hours per week
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to stakeholders and applicants within the UK and ROI in relation to Right to Work to ensure compliance with Company policy and UKVI & INIS rules and regulations, whilst maintaining up to date records
- Continually review and deliver training in relation to Right to Work and global mobility frameworks across the Group to mitigate risk to the business and individuals
- Work collaboratively to minimise risks to assignees and the Group when considering all overseas projects and providing guidance in relation to corporate tax risk, personal tax risk, immigration, policy etc with the support of internal teams and external partners where appropriate
- Support with the repatriation of colleagues, including providing tax support
- Provide advice to stakeholders on all aspects of sponsorship, including eligibility, SOC Codes of Practice, Resident Labour Market Tests (RLMT), salary levels etc
- In conjunction with the wider People team, provide assignment and relocation briefs, to include cost projections and advice to support the global mobility strategy, managing stakeholder expectations with regards to time to mobilise,
- Provide support and advice to colleagues throughout the assignee lifecycle to ensure the efficient transition from the home to host country or permanent relocations, liaising with the global People team and stakeholders where required
- Support the Group’s growth strategy in existing and new markets, working collaboratively with the global People team and external partners
- Prepare visa and assignment documentation (e.g. letters and compensation statements)
- Undertake policy reviews and benchmarking, reviewing the global mobility framework
- Undertake assignment compensation reviews (e.g. COLA, Housing, and Hardship allowances)
- Work with the employment tax specialist to incorporate hypothetical tax reviews and in country compliance into policy and documentation
- Work with our global mobility partners to ensure statutory obligations are met
- Ensure appropriate auditing is conducted
- Keep up to date with changes in legislation and regulations relating to employing migrant workers and ensure this is communicated accordingly
- Lead and coach a small team
Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:
- Experience of providing a seamless end-to-end service for the Group and colleagues
- Experience of working with senior stakeholders across global mobility, immigration and external vendors in a fast-paced environment
- Expertise in Mobility, Compensation &/or Benefits and ideally Immigration across EMEA and the USA
- Experience of setting up and maintaining shadow payrolls
- Experience with sponsorship applications and processes
- Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Experience of managing challenging deadlines
- Working knowledge of employment legislation and HR/People procedures and policies is preferable
- CIPD and AAT/ACCA qualifications would be advantageous
