The Role
Here at SecureCloud+ we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing operations team based out of our Stoke on Trent site.
As a Senior IT Infrastructure engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the build, configuration and deployment of bespoke communications solutions. With a focus on security and best practice, you will work within a small team of highly skilled and knowledgeable engineers to deliver quality solutions to our customers and support the ongoing business growth and success.
Role Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deploy configure and maintain scalable and secure IT infrastructure including servers, application servers, storage and virtualisation technologies.
- Production of high quality LLD/Build documentation detailing configurations and processes.
- Implement security best practices and protocols to protect the company's data and infrastructure from security threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, identify opportunities for improvement, and deploy solutions.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
- Support the design of new solutions using technical knowledge to assess requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansions in coordination with stakeholders.
- Support feasibility studies, prototyping, and testing to validate product concepts and ensure performance, reliability and suitability.
- Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders, including senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating new tools and solutions, and recommending improvements to enhance the efficiency, security, and reliability of the solutions being delivered.
Education and Experience Requirements
As the Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or another IT related field may be beneficial.
- Proven relevant experience in a senior infrastructure engineering role.
- Strong technical proficiency in deploying Dell VxRail architecture, features, and capabilities, including software-defined storage, virtualization, and compute resources.
- Experience with VMware vSphere and vSAN technologies, including installation, configuration, and management.
- Be competent in the configuration and deployment of a variety of windows servers/applications.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Ability to deploy and maintain scalable and secure database solutions using SQL server.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
UK Security Check (SC) clearance is required for this position. Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain SC clearance, with a view to obtaining UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance as required.
