Job description

Our mission is to bridge the digital divide and support access to education and social inclusion. The Volunteer IT Assistant will support us in this task by refurbishing, sorting and grading donated laptops ready for distribution.

What will you be doing?

Working out of our office in Melksham, this post would require the volunteer

• To carry out a range of IT and technical support tasks to support the end-to-end laptop refurbishment process including secure disk wiping, refurbishing and visual inspections.
• To follow step-by-step processes to securely wipe donated devices, grade them and install new hardware so they are ready for redistribution. 
• To work in a manner which protects your own Health & Safety and that of others.

What are we looking for?

ESSENTIAL:

• 3 years + of experience in an IT support role
• Experience in data wiping to government standards

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL:

• Ability to follow step-by-step instructions methodically.
• Manual dexterity.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and external contacts in person, by phone and by email
