School Board Trustees (Governors)

Parkstone Grammar School

Location

Poole, Dorset | United Kingdom

Job description

Required from Spring term 2024, a rare opportunity has arisen to join our Governing Board at this outstanding 11-18 selective girls’ school which has an excellent academic reputation.

Following a recent governance restructure, Parkstone Grammar School is now recruiting Trustees to its Trust Board. We currently have four vacancies. These are voluntary roles.

Founded in 1905, this single academy trust now requires additional Trustees to join our existing group of enthusiastic and hard-working volunteers who work with the school’s leadership to create an inspiring and highly successful learning environment for girls from Poole and its surrounding area. School Trustees promote the vision, ethos and strategic direction of the school, and hold the main responsibility for finance, ensuring that the school’s use of resources and money are well-spent. Trustees also appoint the Head Teacher and members of the Leadership Group.

As well as an interest in education and the performance of schools, Trustees will bring legal, educational or business/commercial expertise. A connection to the local community would also be desirable, but not essential. We believe everyone has something to offer and we want people from as many backgrounds and with as wide a range of interests as possible.

In return, you will be part of a highly successful school where a varied curriculum delivered by expert and passionate staff, is underpinned by our renowned pastoral care. It is for these reasons that our results are outstanding and we regularly feature in The Sunday Times’s top state schools.

If you are interested in finding out more about these voluntary roles, please see our website for details or contact Alexia Anderson, Clerk to Governors at [email protected].

Applications should be sent to the Clerk to Governors at the above email address and be in the form of an application form (only) to include why you are interested in the role you are applying for and details of any relevant experience you feel you could bring to the Board.

Closing date: 9.00am, Thursday 28th March 2024

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. The school is also committed to a policy of equal opportunity.
