Job Title: Personal Assistant/ Support Worker
Location: Haywards Heath (Balcombe)
Hourly rate: £12.40 per hour
Reference: CZ7984
Hours/shifts:
2 after school slots per week, approx. 4:00-6.00pm.
Our preference would be for Mondays and Tuesdays or Fridays but there may be some flexibility.
Summary:
We are looking for support for our very energetic and gregarious 8 year old son.
He loves people and talking, and is very interested in what everyone is doing and why!
He enjoys food, gardening, transport and loves a bargain at the charity shop.
Your role would be to support him to go out to participate in activities and develop his independence.
We have a (very friendly) labradoodle so ideally you would be a dog lover.
We are looking for after school support generally but also some support in the school holidays and ad hoc at weekends would be great.
Other Requirements
• Non-smoker.
• Must be comfortable with pets
• UK driving licence and access to own vehicle preferable.
• Other: All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
Description:
Main role is to meet our son at our home in Balcombe when he is dropped of by his taxi driver at 4:00pm and then stay with him until one of us is home from work at 6:00pm, either spending time with him at our home, or taking him out for entertainment (we can discuss the kinds of activities he enjoys). After a day at school he is sometime keen to have some time at home, playing with his toys, doing craft activities or looking at books. There is a playground near our home that he enjoys visiting if it’s dry.

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential; a kind and common sense approach to this role is required.
