Job description

What you will do in your working day

• Adhering to health, safety, environment and welfare policies and procedures in the workplace using a range of hand and power tools
• Building studwork walls and staircases
• Hanging doors
• Pitching roofs
• Wood finishing (to doors, windows and window sills)
• Fitting kitchens
• Measuring, marking out, cutting, finishing, positioning and securing
• Safely storing materials, without causing damage
• Installing floor joist coverings
• Fitting hinges
• Operate equipment on-site in a safe manner
• Part of a team providing support and assistance to keep the work area tidy and safe
• Perform additional tasks as directed by Site Management and Sub-contractor Team
• Attend intensive block release training at the SMG Group, Coalville, Leicestershire

The training you will be getting

• Attend intensive block release training at the SMB Group, Coalville, Leicestershire
• Accommodation and travel fully funded for training
• Will achieve a Level 2 Qualification in Carpentry and Joinery

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

• To continue working for a contractor, or you could feel ready to go solo and set yourself up as self-employed
