Job description
In this role you will be managing one of three Engineering teams, to ensure the rides remain safe and operational at all times, stores and inventory are up to date, and that vehicles are safe and fit for purpose. This includes planning all elements of ride management, including ensuring winter maintenance plans are deliverable.
You will be responsible for managing the Engineering Team Leaders and Engineers to improve ride availability, as well as managing the through-life management plan for all designated engineering assets.
As an Engineering Area Manager, you’ll ensure that all rides and attractions are maintained in accordance with ‘the system for safety of attractions’, as specified in guidance document HSG175 (2017), and that they are handed back to the operation on agreed dates.
- Full understanding of engineering-related statutory requirements such as COSHH.
- Significant experience and knowledge of Planned Preventative Maintenance within a Mechanical Engineering orientated domain.
- An ability to clearly focus on the planning & preparation of the activities administered by mechanical and electrical engineering personnel.
- Qualified to at least HND-level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, you’ll have extensive heavy engineering experience at management level, ideally gained within a theme park.
- Project management experience.
- Energetic, dynamic, and motivational leader, with proven managerial skills who can get the most out of a large team.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A working knowledge of the ADIPS scheme and HSE document HSG175 would be ideal.
