We are looking for a dynamic and customer focussed Repairs Team Leader to join our Repairs and Investment Team in Landlord Services. Reporting to the Principal Officer – Repairs and Maintenance. Demonstrating exceptional leadership skills, able to supervise and manage housing repairs and void maintenance services .Delivering a high-quality customer standards in line with proactive tenant and leaseholder engagement and performances against targets to meet the Council’s expectations.
Organising and maintaining the Out of Hours Standby Service, ensuring satisfactory levels of cover, controlling and monitoring the standby rota and providing support and assistance to the staff on call. This may include dealing with an incident on site, or responding to telephone enquiries as appropriate.
Able to deputise for the Principal Officer – Repairs & Maintenance and cover as necessary for members of staff if required. With the ability to prepare reports when requested for consideration by the Head of Landlord Services, and able to provide comprehensive written reports following investigations, complaints, pre and post repairs inspections, diagnosis of repairs defects and produce detailed specifications as required.
Providing support in the effective procurement and contract management of external suppliers and contractors in supporting the delivery of repairs & maintenance services. Complying with Standing Orders, Financial Regulations, all legal, statutory and any other relevant provisions governing or affecting the council.
Ensuring that the organisation’s health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion policies are fully implemented at all times and in all aspects of service delivery and employment and to support on all safeguarding requirements for the service area.
The post holder must be able to drive and have access to a vehicle to undertake site visits.
Proven supervisory experience in the delivery of a high quality in-house (DLO) repairs and maintenance service.
Demonstrable experience of and ability to create a vision for a service and to operate strategically.
Significant experience in managing both voids and responsive repairs within an in-house operation.
Experience of planned maintenance and asset management contracts .
Management experience in a construction related environment.
Knowledge and understanding of the legal and statutory framework relating to repairs and maintenance services.
