C&I Technician - Macclesfield - Competitive Salary
CBW has a new opportunity for a Control and Instrumentation Technician to join a growing FM company on a permanent basis. You must have previous experience. Below are all of the details on this position:
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out scheduled maintenance, fault finding, repairs, de-commissioning and re-commissioning on a wide range of power plant, systems and equipment
- Responsible for minor installations work and maintenance of site Control and Instrumentation systems including Compressed Air, Steam, Pressure, Water and Gas ensuring that all equipment within responsibility and control is correctly operated, maintained and repaired, maximising plant operational efficiency and ensuring the safety of oneself and others at all times.
- Shall provide ad-hoc and emergency on-call rota cover
- Diagnose and repair faults on Control and Instrumentation systems and plant, including basic LV electrical fault finding
- Undertake preventative, predictive and emergency maintenance work in order to meet plant reliability and performance targets
- Assist in developing and maintaining effective O&M procedures, operating instructions, drawings, Risk Assessments and Method Statements for the facility
- Contribute to the planning and management of plant outages, major overhauls, preventative maintenance schedules and routine maintenance activities ensuring alignment of Maintenance Strategy with that of the Client
Person Specification:
- Knowledge and preferably proven experience and delivery of process plant operations, engineering and maintenance
- Knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and its impact on day to day operations
- An understanding of the processes and systems required to develop and maintain a high standard of work quality
- Minimum of BTEC National Certificate/City and Guilds Level 3 or equivalent but preferred Higher National Certificate in a LV Electrical and / or Control and Instrumentation craft discipline
- NVQ Level 3 in a craft discipline or equivalent
- Completed recognised relevant apprenticeship
- A formal health and safety related qualification e.g. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
- Additional relevant qualifications as dictated by Site / Contract requirements to include Crane Supervisor, Lifting and Slinging Supervisor, Hot Working and Manual Handling Assessor, Scaffold Inspector
- Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) trained (desirable)
- Good fault finding and diagnostic skills
- Good IT Skills having experience in operating a range of Systems including Microsoft Office Suite and Maintenance Management System
