Business Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our Transformation team here at Domestic & General. The role will lead the requirements and scope definition for our Sales, Client, and Payment Portfolio initiatives

Working collaboratively with stakeholders, technical and business SME’s to explore strategic themes and shaping early propositions into a set business requirement

The successful applicant will:

Own the creation and articulation of business requirements feeding into and supporting the subsequent design for programme delivery teams.

Ensuring standards are met which clearly describe the scope of the proposition, supports the transition from business requirements to solution design and shows a ‘clear line of sight’ from strategy to execution and business benefits realisation (through mapping to OKR’s & KPI’s)

Be responsible for defining, preparing, and modelling the current and future state (‘as is’ and ‘to be’) business process flows that can be used to clearly identify gaps, required change, associated impact and help define priority. Support the principles, direction, and standards as it relates to the existing business process framework

Work with the Enterprise Architects to assist with developing a structured strategy and business design relating to the platforms and technology based on business needs and strategic direction, to ensure integrity to programme/portfolio design

Collaborate with Product Managers and Product Owners to transpose requirements into User Stories so they can be delivered by Product Teams

Key role responsibilities:

Support the development of the business strategy through programmes of work

As part of the wider BA community support organizational strategic reviews and framework alignment

Determine and own business requirements and scope for assigned projects

Determine and own business requirements and scope for the programme

Engage and work with the wider D&G architecture team, programme directors and 3rd party consultancies as required

Key participant within Agile teams and Waterfall delivery teams

Desirable Industry Experiences and Knowledge:

Digital Sales Platforms

International Payment methods and processes

Operational front and back-office processes

Financial Services, Insurance or Retail

Subscription products

Skills and experience required:

Highly capable self-starter who will need to hit the ground running, with the ability to think strategically and work at pace with a high degree of autonomy. Define and deliver clear business benefits and anchor the design for the programme or project as it progresses through an agile or waterfall lifecycle

Enthusiastic team player with strong leadership skills will be required. Someone who can build consensus across a large and often diverse group of stakeholders. Ensure stakeholder interests are identified and addressed. Able to demonstrate a high level of political and business awareness

Ensure a clear, confident, and collaborative manner when articulating concepts, challenges, complexities to drive standards and best practices

Well-developed analytical thinking & problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new concepts and integrate varying inputs, comprehend intent of business needs, and help shape the solution

Mapping and designing customer journeys, business processes, and product storyboards for development teams to deliver a functional product

Collaborating with designers, developers, and testers to refine and clarify user stories ready for build
