Position: Managing Quantity Surveyor

Location: Wolverhampton

Rate: £75,000 - £85,000 + Car/Allowance + Package

Reporting to: Commercial Manager

The Managing Quantity Surveyor role

I'm working with a leading civil engineering contractor who have the rare opportunity for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their team. The contractor have a solid order book of diverse civil engineering project, no two days are the same and the business champion development of their staff at every opportunity so you'll have a clear development plan from day one in their business.

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor or aspiring Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll have experience in working on large-scale civils projects and a sound knowledge of NEC form of contract, this will form an essential part of your role. You could have experience in working for a Main Contractor on large-value projects or as a subcontractor providing that you relish the challenge that comes with really owning your own project and supporting the project team can deliver on their own measurables, projects vary in value but your sweet spot will be anything up to £20Million in value.

The Managing Quantity Surveyor will

Price/forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project

Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation

Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly

Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project

Measure and value the work done on site

Liaise with the client and colleagues; including Site Managers, Project Managers and Site Engineers

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor you'll have

Experience in work for a Main Contractor or larger subcontractor

Experience across civil engineering projects of a similar value or scope of works mentioned above

Excellent and demonstrable knowledge of NEC form of contract

Team player who promotes and protects the interest of the business at all times

Experience in delivering projects up to £20Million in value
