The Zephyr Aircraft is a record-breaking High Altitude Long Endurance solar-electric powered remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) capable of persistent operations in the stratosphere over many weeks. Zephyr has held the world record for the longest unrefuelled aircraft flight since 2010. Zephyr continues to be developed and the system is now poised to surpass this record and demonstrate its full potential. To achieve this, AALTO Haps Ltd will be conducting more flight trial campaigns and we require people with relevant technical and aviation experience to operate the system as part of a multi-person crew.
Training:
You will undergo training to operate Zephyr safely which requires 5 weeks of Operator Training and 4 weeks of Mission Planner Training, followed by advanced on-the-job instruction. Part of this time is spent in the classroom, simulator at our training facility in Farnborough UK and on deployment. Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for the safe and effective delivery of Zephyr flight operations in one of two roles: Operator And/or Mission Planner. Training is provided for both roles but eventual appointment and progression will depend upon qualifications, experience and demonstrated skills. The roles will encompass the following tasks:
