A&P Falmouth – Tug Master
We are developing our team here and are looking for a Tug Master to join the team at our Falmouth facility. You'll support the marine and port operations of Falmouth also undertaking Coastal tow's
If you've previously been sea-going as a Master / Chief Officer and you're looking for a shore-based position this could be the role for you!
Critical to the business you'll be operating mainly within the Falmouth Pilotage Area as part of a team offering coverage 24/7
So as Tug Master at A&P Group, what will you do?
- You'll have authority over all on board
- Safely navigate and ensure that the crews are ready at all times to carry out on board duties
- You'll be the overriding authority and make decisions necessary for all on board, the tug, safety, health and environment, and to prevent pollution
- You'll apply and enforce legislative and regulatory measures and operation of the management system
- Carrying out the ship's administration and providing the Marine Operations manager with status report, you'll management of all the ships certificates
- Vitally you'll lead, instruct and motivate the crew clearly and concisely
And what are we looking for?
- Commercial marine experience & knowledge of Ports Sector
- Experience of harbour/ at Sea Towage preferred although full training will be given
- Knowledge of the Port Marine Safety Code, vessel operations, counter pollution.
- I.T. literate
- You'll need to be flexible and work anti-social hours to meet customer and operational needs
Minimum Qualifications:
- STCW Master 500grt or higher
- All STCW short courses including all recent amendments
- Valid ENG1 medical
