HR Consultant with employee relations experience and dealing with complex casework to help in our HR Consultancy Team supporting managers with Disciplinary, Grievance and Sickness cases.
MAIN PURPOSE:

  1. The HR Consultant will provide an effective, efficient and proactive employee relations service which:

a) Supports the achievement of the Council’s HR Strategy and the business aims and objectives of clients and the Council;
b) Promotes best practice and enables the Council to meet their legal employment responsibilities; and
c) Represent the Council’s interests in employment decisions taken by managers where it is appropriate to do so.

  1. Undertake project work as required.

KNOWLEDGE

A working knowledge of current employment law and good employment practice, and their application in the workplace.
An appreciation of the contribution that performance management processes can make to service improvement.
An understanding of equalities issues in relation to employment and service delivery
Commercial awareness.

Knowledge of local government challenges and associated employment law issues and implications.

EXPERIENCE

Proven experience as a generalist HR/employee relations practitioner.
Proven experience of working effectively in partnership with others.

QUALIFICATIONS
Have achieved, or be actively studying, for appropriate CIPD qualification or have proven experience as a generalist HR/ employee relations practitioner
