An established Accountancy Practice with offices in Durham are looking for a Taxation Associate to join their team. A competitive salary is on offer for the successful individual alongside other benefits including 22 days of holiday plus bank holidays and a day off for your birthday! Reporting to an Assistant Tax Manager or Tax Manager, you will be involved in the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of some of the most wealthy and exciting entrepreneurial businesses across our region. The delivery of your work will be supplemented using cutting-edge technology to enhance efficiencies and client delivery.

As Taxation Associate your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Prepare income, P11D and corporation tax returns from a variety of systems including CCH, Iris and Taxshield
• Prepare dividend paperwork
• Research basic tax planning issues
• Action queries raised by tax colleagues on the draft tax returns and computations
• Clear review points and actioning queries raised by colleagues
• Act as a point of contact for clients for ad hoc queries
• Other ad hoc duties, as required

To be successful in this Taxation Associate role, you will:

• Have excellent communication skills and be confident speaking to clients face to face, over the telephone and by email
• Must have excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of Excel
• Have 3 A levels at grade A* - C (or equivalent) or AAT L3 or L4 qualified or have a relevant degree
• Relevant accounts and or tax experience, as well as experience of using tax preparation software

Based in Durham, this role is commutable from areas in and around Durham and surrounding areas including West Rainton, Shincliffe, Kimblesworth and further. Free car parking is available on site and is easily located via public transport.
