Bath Rugby Head of Marketing. Fixed Term Contract 12 months. Location: Hybrid / Recreation Ground, Bath. / Farleigh House
Founded in 1865, Bath is one of the oldest rugby union Clubs in existence. Located in the heart of the World Heritage City of Bath, they are a club steeped in vibrant history and heritage. Bath Rugby is now in expansion mode, where they’re looking to re-develop their Stadium to 18K capacity (14.5K today) and continue to develop more revenue streams from grass roots club, fan/member experiences, market beating hospitality and fabulous retail. Not to mention, obsessing about bringing the best, trophy winning team to the pitch every match!
Reporting to the Marketing Director and working closely with Partnerships, Retail and Ticketing team, our Head of Marketing will lead on two key projects:
- To deliver audience and revenue growth through effective data driven marketing and our own digital platforms.
- To develop creative, audience focussed solutions and experiences to bring to life a revitalised brand positioning.
All your efforts will need to have a very strong revenue / profit orientation. We are seeking a data driven and “Digital First” Marketer, who can articulate and execute tactics to drive growth from customer satisfaction and greater fan/member/sponsor lifetime value. At the same time, you will be heavily involved in further elevating the match day experience for fans, previous knowledge and experience at creating experiential events and delighting customers would be advantageous.
Role Responsibilities:
- Leading, in collaboration with the Marketing Director and Head of Comms & PR, to build the largest, most engaged, and most valuable fanbase in club rugby through an integrated fan recruitment campaign, supported by the development of demand led marketing capability.
- To implement and manage an annual marketing strategy to support wider marketing mission and commercial objectives, establishing and monitoring relevant KPIs to evaluate progress and success.
- To support the development of a re-energized brand position, executing the implementation and maintenance throughout the customer journey and experiences.
- To implement the digital and data vision, creating exceptional experiences that allow us to increase engagement, convert users and evaluate behaviour and performance.
- Overseeing the implementation of commercial and supporter engagement marketing campaigns, utiliising owned, shared, paid and earned media channels which can be measured against objectives and produce a positive return on investment.
- Working in tandem with our Operations team to create a best-in-class matchday experience (and other required experiences), designed to attract new audiences, increase frequency of visits, ticket price value and our overall NPS score.
- Responsible for workflow and budget management across the department, ensuring work is appropriately prioritised, monitored, delivered, and evaluated to ensure productivity is optimised and quality maintained.
About You:
- A proven track record as a commercial marketer, who understands brand, digital, customer and profit.
- Possess emotional and intellectual intelligence in balanced / equal measure
- Natural leadership abilities with excellent interpersonal skills and know the benefits of bringing your team, peers, managers and other colleagues with you
- Excellent analytical skills to track and manage performance
- Quick learning capabilities and can process lots of information, prioritising actions based on sound logic and desired outcomes
- 5 years'+ experience of hands-on digital Marketing experience within retail industry/hospitality/sports (preferred but not essential)
- 2 years’+ management experience demonstrating change and significant improvement
- Demonstrate consistent ability to drive financial goals and results
- Relationship management of internal and external partners/stakeholders
