Job description
My client is a company that works in the Energy, Construction, Geothermal & Refineries sectors. They are currently looking to recruit for a Principal Environmental / Process Scientist for their Midlands location.
Provide technical support to the sales team whilst running and maintaining the in house laboratory. The suitable candidate will have a proven track record of working within the environmental sector and have extensive knowledge of environmental legislation and environmental management techniques.
Key Activities and tasks:
- Providing technical support to the onshore division responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Provide technical leadership for process orientated activities and support the Technical Sales team in the development of solutions as appropriate
- Manage in house technical laboratory and undertake/devise appropriate testing regimes to strengthen the -development of solutions and enable process R&D activities to be undertaken
- Providing technical support to the sales teams by reviewing client derived chemical test data and associated site investigation studies and provide input into the likely scope of supply
- Provide training and mentoring to junior team members
- Liaison with clients and key industry stakeholders for specific technical matters where appropriate
- Maintain a high level of understanding of environmental regulations and legislation issues which could influence the business and the opportunities presented
- Provide stewardship to training material, including the preparation of articles, papers, publications and presentations, participating as appropriate
- Attending seminars and sites as appropriate to provide appropriate level of support to the Technical Sales teams and development of business opportunities
Training & Competence:
- To attend any required training in order to be deemed competent.
- Complete company set competency record.
Health & Safety:
- Adhere to the company's QHSE policies and procedures.
- Contribute to the company's Safety Card System.
Requirements
As a minimum will be degree qualified or greater in environmental science, environmental chemistry or other associated scientific discipline.

- Relevant industry experience is desirable with practical outlook.
