CNC Programmer machining of mainly stainless steel components on 500mm to 1m bed lathes, millers along with some machine tool assembly duties; you will be producing assemblies and bespoke built precision machines; prototype components for the build, test, assembly and development of high quality precision machinery.
Main duties and responsibilities of the successful CNC Machinist Assembly Technician:
- CNC Programmer will be Turning & Milling, plus setting and operating
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Working on Siemens and Fanuc control panels (experience ideal but not essential)
- Some basic Manual milling, turning and grinding of parts.
- Assemble, fit and manually adjust precision manufactured assemblies to extreme tight tolerances (micron tolerances)
- Coordinate, plan and manage machine shop tooling availability
- Support and or plan any preventative maintenance activities, manufacturing processes and optimise the manufacturing of assemblies (training will be given)
- Strong technical ability to liaise effectively with team members running projects
- Understand and be able to work to high standards of health and safety
- Any other general machine shop and assembly duties expected on the job
CNC Programmer Key skills required of the CNC Machinist Assembly Technician:
- Relevant Mechanical/ Engineering qualification or apprenticeship - HNC/ HND/ City & Guilds/ BTEC or other
- Prior work experience in a mechanical engineering and or machinist role with a precision manufacturing environment.
- Good workload control skills, working to machine shop specific deadlines
- A basic understanding of standard metrology equipment would be beneficial
- Self-driven individual with a 'Right First Time' attitude.
- Experience of working within a quality assurance system.
- Ability to work alone or part of a team.
- You must hold a full UK driving licence and have an in date passport (as this role may include travel occasionally to customer sites)
The CNC Programmer - Assembly Technician role is working days, Basic hours are 7.5 a day, Monday to Thursday, 7 hours on Friday - 37 hours per week total.
Flexibility applies to start and finish times; core hours are between 9am and 3.45pm Monday to Thursday, 3.15pm on Fridays. Overtime available occasionally at T+1/2
CNC Programmer Location commutable from: Milton Keynes, Cambridge, Northampton, Peterborough
