Founded over 100 years ago, one of the UK’s leading educational establishments has an opportunity for an experienced Nursery Manager to join its enthusiastic and positive team on a full-time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Director of the department, you will form an integral part of the nursery management team where you will be responsible for staff management, planning, organising and co-ordinating the full range of nursery activities ensuring children attending receive the best possible standards of care and education.
As the Nursery Manager you will be:
- Responsible for the welfare of the children, the recruitment, supervision, and training of staff, and the financial administration of the Nursery
- Ensuring the nursery is compliant with the Children’s Act and Health and Safety legislation within the requirements / guidelines from Estyn / CIW and the Welsh Government
- Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures as applicable
- Getting hands on, providing cover for staff absences as and when required
To be successful in the role of Nursery Manager, you should:
- Have previous experience in a similar role (minimum of two years due to the nature of the role)
- Minimum of a Level 3 Qualification in childcare (which meets the requirements of the Manager role in the Social Care Wales Qualification Framework)
- Previous staff management experience
- A current first aid certificate with paediatric endorsement, and a current Food Hygiene Certificate
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office with strong administration skills
- The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh both orally and in writing due to the nature of the job
- Have excellent customer service and communication skills able to communicate with parents, and colleagues.
This role is being offered on a full-time permanent basis working Monday – Friday with a competitive annual salary on offer of £37,099 - £44,263 per annum depending on experience plus a range of company benefits including a generous holiday allowance, discounted nursery costs, and company discount scheme.
