Reporting to the Head of Capital Planning and Development we currently have a new opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic well-motivated individual to contribute to the work of the Estates Capital Planning and Development Department.
The post provides a great opportunity to lead on the delivery of capital infrastructure projects which supports both our ambitious Estates and Corporate Strategy. You will lead a team responsible for managing and contributing to the successful delivery of capital projects and their healthcare technical and engineering requirements, ensuring that good relationships with internal colleagues and external clients are maintained. The Engineering Development Manager will be accountable for the projects under their care and will champion best practice engineering , building services, project planning and delivery both within the Capital, Estates and Facilities Directorate and the wider organisation.The Capital Planning and Development Team is a multi-disciplinary professional team forming an integral part of the Trust’s Estates & Facilities Directorate.
Reporting to the Head of Capital Planning & Development, the post holder will lead on all aspects of Engineering and Infrastructure Design projects from inception to completion derived from the Trusts Capital Programme including generators, ventilation plants, steam/gas distribution, HV/LV electrical distribution, heating systems, cooling systems, medical gages, domestic hot and cold water generation and distribution.
Working closely with the Head of Capital Planning & Development, Deputy Director & Director of Capital, Estates and Facilities the post holder will undertake the role of Engineering Development Manager with lead responsibility and accountability for the delivery of all infrastructure and engineering capital design projects within existing site facilities and including the 2020/40 vision development plan liaising and coordinating with our Cambridge biomedical campus partners in relation to site wide infrastructure expansion.
You will be accountable for the projects under their care and will manage in-house resources, external Consultants and Contractors in the successful delivery of these projects in accordance with agreed programmes and budget parameters.
