Job Title: Design and Technology Teacher

Are you passionate about nurturing creativity and practical skills in young minds? Do you have a flair for design and a passion for teaching hands-on techniques? If so, we are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Design and Technology Teachers to join our secondary schools in Halstead, starting immediately.

As a Design and Technology Teacher , you will have the opportunity to inspire and empower students to become innovative problem solvers and skilled creators.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging and practical Design and Technology lessons that foster creativity and technical proficiency in students.
  • Teach a range of disciplines within Design and Technology, including product design, engineering, graphics, and textiles, using a variety of teaching methods and resources to cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Provide hands-on instruction and demonstrations to help students develop their practical skills, use tools and equipment safely, and create high-quality finished products.
  • Encourage students to explore design concepts, solve real-world problems, and develop their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Assess student progress through a combination of practical projects, coursework, and written assignments, providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a degree in Design and Technology or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Design and Technology at the secondary level, with a passion for inspiring creativity and innovation in students.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
  • Strong technical knowledge and proficiency in a range of Design and Technology disciplines, with the ability to teach practical skills confidently and safely.
  • Commitment to promoting creativity, sustainability, and ethical design principles in the classroom.
