Job Title: Technical Architect (Salesforce)
Location: Boston MA (hybrid)
Duration: 36 month contract
Experience: 15 years
Note: Only considering candidates local to MA; will not interview candidates who are out of state.
Key Skills:
- Salesforce (License and Permit Management broader CRM platform capabilities)
- REST API frameworks in various languages
- RDBMS and NoSQL databases cloudbased and data warehouses
- CI/CD and DevOps tools particularly Jira
- Automated testing frameworks and tools
- Mobile application frameworks (e.g. React Xamarin Salesforce Einstein)
Description: As a result of organizational consolidation the Department of Licensing (DOL) is embarking on a modernization effort to replace three siloed software systems with a single standardized platform. The Technology Architect role is crucial in this initiative providing technical leadership support and direction to DOL and external vendor teams involved in implementing and maintaining the new platform.
The Technology Architect will report to the Associate Deputy Commissioner of Technology Analytics and Digital Transformation overseeing the Agencys technology modernization digital transformation and data analytics initiatives.
Role Objectives:
- Provide technical leadership guidance and support to DOL and external vendor teams.
- Work on largescale web applications ensuring solutions are scalable and accessible to millions of Massachusetts constituents.
- Utilize modern tools and programming languages with expertise in Salesforce REST API frameworks databases CI/CD and DevOps tools.
- Collaborate with external vendors and internal teams advocating for DOL and ensuring the delivery of highquality software on time and as per agreedupon functionality.
- Demonstrate the ability to see the big picture while delving into technical details overseeing software development data engineering analytics QA processes and User Experience (UX).
Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading development teams and reporting to executives in a senior role.
- Background in working with largescale web applications preferably in a senior technical role on a significant software project.
- Deep handson experience with modern tools and programming languages including Salesforce REST API frameworks databases CI/CD and DevOps tools.
- Familiarity with mobile application frameworks (e.g. React Xamarin Salesforce Einstein).
- Experience with both waterfall and agile software delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of SaaS and IaaS platforms including Amazon Web Services Microsoft Azure Salesforce cloud Snowflake and others.
- Proficiency in performance testing and tuning.
Preferred:
- Experience in advocating for DOL with external vendors ensuring alignment with technology roadmaps.
- Familiarity with performance testing and tuning methodologies.
