Job description

Smile Education Northwest a delighted to be working alongside a friendly school based in Wigen, in the recruitment of Design and Technology graduates.

We are currently looking for recent graduates from a design related course, such as textiles, graphic design, product design or design and technology. The successful applicants will be working with students from Year 7-11 to deliver pre-planned lesson content or support as a technician within the D&T department. This role is ideal for any applicants thinking about a career within teaching or the education sector as it allows you to gain excellent classroom-based experience before committing to the demands of a PGCE or other teacher training route.

This role allows you to experience and deliver a wide range of subject lessons, working alongside experienced teachers to develop your skills and confidence. Applicants will be provided with training, including safeguarding training, through our Smile Education Graduate Academy- Learn to Teach scheme. Successful applicants will be working with a school based within the north Manchester Wigan area, within proximity to Ashton-in-makerfield, Hindley and Bickershaw. The expected salary range for this role is between £85-100 per day, depending on experience.

What to expect from applicants?

We would like applicants to be recent graduates, having graduated from 2022 onwards. Applicants should come from a design related course, such as graphic design, textiles and design technology. Graduates who graduated before 2022 but have considerable industry experience will be considered for technician roles.
