Responsibilities
- To monitor and administrate freight collections and deliveries, plus manage on the road transport operations to ensure successful completion.
- Liaise with customers on a regular basis to monitor and process consignments and solve any operational problems.
- Keep internal communications with other DHL Freight partner as necessary.
- Process, maintain and update data on company systems.
- Ensure shipping process is carried out in line with the company's processes and quality procedures.
- Prepare required paperwork for Suppliers expert user in house TMS systems (full training provided)
- Planning of Export linehaul
Profile
- Good organizational, IT and communication skills.
- Intermediate use of MS Office Packages - preferred
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods - desired
- Ability to focus on identifying and meeting customer's needs (internal and external)
- Ability to think and act across boundaries ( e.g between processes and departments)
- Contributes new ideas and is happy to challenge the status quo.
- Challenges self to continually improve in role.
- Good communication skills both individually and to internal/external customers
- Be aware of Health and Safety standards, along with a high understanding of dignity and diversity in the workplace.
- Have a methodical and organised approach to work with the ability to think ahead and prioritise tasks.
- One year Logistics office experience preferred
- Knowledge of UK/European road transport geography preferred
- Numeracy and literacy skills essential
- Some warehouse interaction required
