Senior CAD Technician/ Engineer
Location: Crewe
Salary: £30,000-40,000 DOE
My client is looking for a Senior CAD Technician/ Engineer to join their team and deliver a variety of railway civil projects.
This is an exciting opportunity, and the role would suit someone with 2+ years of experience.
Senior CAD Technician/ Engineer Role Responsibilities:
This role requires you to have experience in delivering design services and successfully implementing design strategies. You will be someone who can make recommendations for improvements and implement them accordingly.
- The ideal candidate would have a good understanding of the railway environment and the delivery of civil engineering design within it and is proficient with CAD and other design software packages as well as Microsoft Office
- You will be required to produce drawings and contribute to decision logs, risk assessments, calculations, reports, feasibility studies, and document transmittals
- Assists in preparing risk assessments, method statements, work package plans, and supporting information
- Undertakes site inspections, surveys, and investigations while implementing Safe by Design initiatives (Driving licence & car required)
- Participates in meetings, prepares for them, and ensures closure of action items, keeping detailed notes, track and record projects
- Conduct research to inform design solutions and actively participate in design development reviews
- Contributes to presentations for clients and project teams
- Supports project closeouts, reports accidents and incidents, and maintains the company's ethical practices
- Makes recommendations for continual improvement and identifies and shares best practices
- Undertakes and records continuous professional development (CPD) training
Key Requirements for Senior CAD Technician/ Engineer:
- Minimum qualifications required are HNC/HND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related subjects
- Proficient with CAD or other design software packages
- Knowledge of the legislative framework including CDM
- Experience working with the electronic project systems
