The Role
Here at SecureCloud+ we are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer with a focus on automation to join our growing team based out of our Stoke on Trent site.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated processes to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our cloud-based infrastructure and services.
Role Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of automation solutions for deployment, monitoring, and management of cloud infrastructure and services.
- Drive the continuous improvement of automation practices to streamline development workflows and enhance release processes.
- Champion the implementation and management of CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery and ensure continuous integration and deployment.
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet, with a focus on automation.
- Implement and manage containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and scaling applications, emphasising automation.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate automation into all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of cloud-based services.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in automation, DevOps, and cloud technologies, and drive their adoption within the organisation.
Education and Experience Requirements
As the DevOps Engineer (Automation) you will have:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role with a strong focus on automation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field would be beneficial.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, with a strong emphasis on automation.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, with a focus on automating infrastructure deployment and management.
- Strong background in configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, with an emphasis on automation.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI, with a focus on automating software delivery pipelines.
- Knowledge of containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift, with an emphasis on automation.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to automation-driven issue resolution.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
UK Security Check (SC) clearance is required for this position.
Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain SC clearance, with a view to obtaining UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance as required.
