Consilium Recruit are proudly supporting a leading global engineering service provider who are working in partnership with some of the world’s most influential names in the Aerospace, Defence, Automotive, Tech, Energy, Healthcare, Medical Devices, Rail and Semi-Conductor industries.


We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their team on contract or permanent basis in support of a globally successful aerospace manufacturer who designs, develops, manufactures and supports a comprehensive range of solutions in support of both civil and military applications based in Wolverhampton.




The Role


The Senior Design Engineer will be responsible for developing technical capability of BOM cost reduction engineering solutions for Aerospace heat exchangers.

Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for the Engineering functional capability. 
• Delivery of engineering across projects and components (especially aerospace heat exchangers), meeting or exceeding safety, lead time, cost, quality and technical specifications/requirements.
• B.O.M Cost reduction.
• Provide technical assistance.
• Promote a culture of high performance, continuous improvement and innovation.
• Defining and applying processes and methods for product design and ensuring process compliance.
• Carry out any other duties as required to support general operations of the Quality / Manufacturing Department.

The Person


The Senior Design Engineer will be a strong technical individual who has the ability to deliver complex solutions and work in collaboration within a highly capable engineering team.

Due to the nature of the work candidates should be able to obtain security clearance.

Experience Required for the Senior Design Engineer:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
• Experience operating in a senior or leading role within complex design.
• Good understanding of B.O.M cost reduction.
• Demonstrate expertise in delivering complex design solutions.
• Expertise in the design and definition process of complex products through the product life cycle.
• Proficient with CAD tools (ideally NX) and PLM (Teamcenter).
• Preferably experienced in heat exchangers, Ozone convertors and fluid management systems but this is not essential.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills at all levels.
