THIS IS A REQUEST FOR IFD SOCIAL WORKER – out of hours
The SW role in the Integrated Front Door is responsible for providing a consistent and timely response to new safeguarding concerns out of hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year and is essential to service delivery.
The SW will be a part of a seven-week rolling rota across day times, evenings and weekends providing the opportunity for them to gain the experience in both our Multi Agency Safeguarding Team and Emergency Duty Service.

About the role
The role lends itself to working with daytime services and area teams to provide a consistent approach and puts you at the front line of delivery in Wiltshire!
It is different in that it allows for direct contact with children, without being case holding. Much of your time will be spent on the telephone, with emergency visits as needed.

About the team and about you
There are a number of roles and responsibilities within the IFD which comprise of different specialisms. The Early Support workers come with a background of experience in early help and knowledge of local services. Information Officers are the first point of contact, and have excellent communication skills, providing information, signposting and support to people accessing the IFD.
Integrated responsibilities in the service offers opportunities to work across the MASH and OOH’s teams. Whilst the work can be demanding, this offers Social Workers and Managers the opportunity to undertake direct and front facing work with children, young people, families and carers, without the responsibility of managing a caseload. This is well balanced with opportunities to utilise their analytical and risk assessment skills by completing MASH assessments. Staff feel this structure offers a great work life balance and provides them an opportunity to maintain their practice skills and experience, and support career and CPD development.

About you
You will thrive on creative thinking and problem solving and enjoy working autonomously. You will possess excellent communication skills, have the ability to identify risk and prioritise accordingly whilst remaining calm and know when to escalate concerns to your team leader.
You will be required to hold a Social Work England registration and a recognised social worker qualification. Updated knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance in relation to working with and the safeguarding of children.
