Legal Administrator
Nottingham
Full time Monday – Friday 9am-5:30pm
We are looking for an experienced administrator to join a busy Criminal defence department for a well-established solicitor in Nottingham
The role of Legal Administrator will involve:
- Applying for Legal Aid, processing Legal Aid applications and dealing with amendments
- Uploading emails and documents onto the case management system
- Diary management, to include hearings, filing dates
- Ensuring hearings/ meetings are flagged for allocation
- Organising team meetings and taking minutes
- Drafting basic court documents and standard letters
- Liaising with clients and courts via telephone and email and setting up appointments
- Downloading and uploading documents to/from the HMCTS portal
- Liaising with Counsel / Counsel’s Clerks / Experts
- Opening and closing files, chasing outstanding documents
The ideal candidate for the role of Legal Administrator will have:
- Previous legal secretarial or legal administration experience
- Experience of working in a busy administration role
- Competent in the use of MS Office including word, outlook and excel
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work on your own initiative
- Previous experience in a legal environment is preferred but not essential, and additional training will be offered
