A growing Real Estate business is searching for an in-house Tax Accountant to join their tax team, based in Milton Keynes.

As an integral part of the indirect tax compliance function, the Indirect Tax Assistant Manager will play a vital role in preparing and reviewing monthly VAT returns.

This role offers involvement in the advisory aspects of the business, supported by senior members of the tax team. It's a chance to deepen your understanding of tax affairs within a large UK corporation and receive support for advancing your career in tax.

Role requirements:

• Alignment with our company values: Integrity, Caring, and Quality
• Minimum GCSE pass of grade 4 or above (C and above) in five subjects including Maths and English; A-Levels: Minimum grade C in all three subjects
• ACA, ACCA, or ATT qualified, or equivalent
• VAT compliance knowledge essential, with a desire to pursue a career in tax within a corporate setting
• Open to candidates transitioning from industry or practice
• Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the team environment

More about the Indirect Tax Assistant Manager Role

• Key contributor to the indirect tax compliance function, involved in preparing and reviewing monthly VAT returns to ensure timely submissions
• Address day-to-day queries from Tax Assistants regarding VAT returns
• Collaborate with regional teams on VAT, SDLT, and CIS matters, providing tax training where needed
• Manage VAT and CIS registrations, ensuring completeness and accuracy of the Tax Library in coordination with senior tax managers
• Assist in advising on VAT and SDLT implications for land acquisitions
• Opportunities for involvement in corporation tax compliance, including preparation and submission of tax returns
• Contribute to improving tax processes and systems, including training and development of junior team members
• Ensure timely upkeep of various shared mailboxes by the team.
