Do you want to improve housing quality and increase housing supply across our city? Do you have experience in Project Management in Construction? Would you like the opportunity to manage the performance of Contractors?
If so, we welcome your application to join the Programme Delivery Team as ourMajor Works Project Manager.
You will be responsible for the management of Major Projects delivery within the housing service, providing:
- a comprehensive Major Projects delivery programme,
- planned servicing and maintenance regimes,
- compliance and investment services including Planning, Construction best practice, demonstrating value for money, CDM regulations.
You will be part of the Housing Investment & Asset Management Servicewhich delivers a wide range of projects across asset management, sustainability and energy, mechanical & electrical and planned and major capital works for our housing stock of approximately 12,500 properties.
The aimof the service is to focus on improving housing quality and supply,achieving carbon reductions,improving the services and living conditions of our residents and reducing homelessness across the city.

We are looking for a hardworking and organised individual who has:
- knowledge and understanding of a range of building and construction methods
-the willingness to develop people management skills and lead a team
- experience of procurement and contract management
- the ability to manage programmes
- experience of financial monitoring
- an understanding of compliance frameworks
The role will be managing a team of two staff made up of site managers and contract managers. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone to step up into a management role.
Youwill be required to undertake a lead role under the direction of the Programme Delivery Manager in ensuringgood links with a variety of other teams and planned and major works investment programmes. Allprogrammes will be delivered in line with the council’s Housing Asset Management Strategy and corporate objectives.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hoursor term-time only.
