Job description
To provide an efficient housekeeping service, ensuring that standards are maintained at all times. To provide a responsive service in relation to the needs of service users. 1.1 To provide daily supervision of staff ensuring daily contact with all staff on duty. 1.2To assist the Assistant Housekeeping Services Manager to compile work schedules. 1.3To deal with, and rectify minor problems which arise on a daily basis. 1.4 To have an understanding of the governments guidelines on the National Standards of cleanliness. 1.5To carry out monitoring in line with The National Standards of Cleanliness. 1.6 To take a pro-active approach to cleaning, constantly striving to improve the quality of service provided. 1.7To carry out staff appraisals. 1.8To carry out staff induction. 1.9To provide comprehensive training to all new members of staff. 1.10To encourage and support staff to achieve NVQs in cleaning and support services. 1.11To have an understanding of infection control and to ensure compliance within the Department. 1.12To maintain confidentiality at all times. 1.13To ensure that all staff are aware of Health and Safety at work Act (1974) and that departmental safety procedures are adhered to. 1.14To liaise with staff within the hospital on day-to-day issues relating to the housekeeping service 1.15To deal with complaints in the first instance. 1.16To raise with the Housekeeping and Linen Services Manager, any issues which may affect the quality of housekeeping service or linen service.
