Your new role The client is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Croydon. The successful candidate will work with our team to deliver sustainability services, including net-zero carbon advisory, to public and private sector clients across a range of programmes and project consultancy services.
What you\'ll need to succeed The candidate should have: - A strong academic background with a relevant engineering degree and ideally an MSc or PhD in a relevant subject.
- At least 5 years of experience in performing numerical modelling with advanced numerical modelling software (e.g., FLAC / FLAC3D, PLAXIS 2D / 3D etc) and analysing results.
- Experience in validation of geotechnical numerical analysis and numerical model calibration.
- Experience in the process of geotechnical numerical analysis within an interdisciplinary project environment.
- A desire to drive digital innovation and further their capability in advanced geotechnical analysis and design.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients and engineers from other disciplines.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
- Strong interest in coaching and mentoring junior colleagues within the Geotechnical team.
- A willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas.
- Working towards or holding Chartered status.
- A valid UK driving licence.
The following qualifications are considered desirable: - Detailed understanding of advanced constitutive soil models, parameter selection for undertaking non-linear analysis (e.g., dynamic analysis, Soil-Structure interaction, thermo-mechanical calculations including creep calculations).
- Experience in programming (e.g., Python, C++) with a focus on geotechnical applications.
- Proven geotechnical analysis and design experience in seismic geotechnical analysis and design including seismic design for shallow and deep foundations, soil-structure interaction, seismic deformational analyses, seismic response of dams and embankments, liquefaction assessment and ground improvement.
