Job description

Lead Veterinary Surgeon - Full Time

Gamston Vets4Pets, Nottinghamshire

Looking to make your move into leadership?

With a package up to £80K (DOE) our Lead Vet Surgeon role might just be your next step!
At Gamston Vets4Pets we are looking for an experienced vet to progress into a leadership role and inspire the current team, whilst being instrumental in the direction the practice takes. You will have the opportunity to experience running a practice as if it were your own, but with the support from established practice colleagues and our highly experienced regional team. You may even be interested in partnership in the future, and, if so, this is an option here too!

Our practice owners, Rachel Austin MRCVS who qualified 24 years ago from Cambridge and Louise Stubbs, RVN who also qualified 24 years ago, have been partners for 17 years and lead the supportive and close knit team of 3.5 Vets, 3 Nurses, 2 Veterinary Care Assistants and 4 Receptionists. Our bright, air-conditioned surgery is purpose built to industry leading standards and has state of the art equipment including Digital x-ray, ultrasound, EGC, ultrasonic dental, biochem, microscope and full surgical facilities.

Gamston Vets4Pets is situated in the heart of community next to the canal and local shops, we are conveniently close to the main A roads, just 10 minutes from the M1 and only 5 minutes from Nottingham city centre.

This role isn't simply to ‘direct' the team; you'll be leading with your sleeves rolled up and operating as Lead Vet, so strong leadership and team development skills are essential. We are looking for good organisational skills, someone who is highly motivated and someone who is keen to encourage and ensure best clinical practice. You will have sound surgical skills as well as excellent consultation skills, comfortable with some sole charge on Saturday mornings only. An approachable and consultative style is essential in this role as the team take great pride in the relationships they have built with their patients, clients and local community. Support is available for anyone interested in studying towards a certificate and as previously mentioned there could be the opportunity for future partnership for the right candidate.

As you would expect from the market leader in small animal veterinary care, we offer:
• Excellent career opportunities and development due to our varied case load
• Salary £70,000 - £80,000 (Dependent on experience)
• Contributory pension scheme
• Generous CPD and funding of certificates for the right candidate
• Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS)
• Childcare vouchers
• Exclusive company discounts and rewards

If you share our passion for delivering outstanding pet healthcare and great customer service and would like to join our team, we would love to hear from you.

We are an equal opportunities employer
