Job description

Renishaw’s Laser Calibration Products Division (LCPD) is made up of engineers, scientists and technicians all collaborating to produce market leading products for sale around the world. Working closely with colleagues in our manufacturing division, we develop manufacturing and assembly processes and software to deliver quality products that in turn, perform reliably and repeatedly to sub-micron accuracies for our customers.

 

We’re currently looking for a Project Manager to work within multi-disciplinary design teams to co-ordinate product development projects within LCPD. As a Project Manager in LCPD, you’ll work within Renishaw’s design change process and new product development process to manage current product development projects through the project lifecycle and report progress to various stakeholders at all levels.

 

Responsibilities

Manage multi-disciplinary activities of Current Products proactive product development projects, ensuring completion of tasks to time, cost, and quality requirements. Managed activities will include:

Product design and development tasks

Product test programmes

Manage design change, adhering to engineering change procedures and processes, work closely with design and manufacturing teams to implement changes into production

Manage development of special solutions for key customers, from requirements capture through to production, ensuring specifications and delivery times are achieved

Develop and maintain accurate project documentation and plans

Regularly report on project status and risks as agreed with the stakeholders, communicating through written word, conversations, and presentations

Take an active, hands-on role to understand how engineering problems are resolved thoroughly and help support that resolution

Key requirements

A Degree or HND in an engineering or scientific discipline, or the ability to demonstrate comparable applied knowledge and experience

Knowledge of project planning and project management techniques

Technical awareness and understanding of design functions and engineering change processes

Previous experience in a project/risk management role, ideally within a complex engineering environment

Awareness of MRP/ERP systems

Understanding of metrology and optical measurement technology

Experience of Design/Process FMEA & risk management

APMP/PMQ Qualified
