Temporary Loader - Waste Services

Pay rate: £11.38 per hour PAYE
Hours per week: 37 Monday – Friday, 06:00-14:00
This opening assignment is for 2-3 months
City: WEYMOUTH, Dorset
A Loader is required to carry out waste and recycling collection and sorting duties on daily rounds. The post requires a lot of walking, standing, bending and lifting throughout the day and exposure to all weather conditions.
Key responsibilities:
Undertake duties as part of a team, collecting and removing domestic, industrial and commercial refuse from a variety of locations.
Collect refuse and recycling materials and sorting where necessary.
Liaise with the public in a professional and helpful manner, ensuring any queries or complaints are resolved promptly whilst promoting council core values.
Comply fully with Health and Safety guidelines, ensuring safe working practices, including assisting the driver in safe manoeuvring of the vehicle.
Assist with the routine checks and cleaning of vehicles.
Any other reasonable and comparable duties as required.

Qualifications:
A general standard of education.
NVQ 2 or equivalent in Waste environment desirable.
Experience & Knowledge:
Previous experience of working within a demanding manual role.
Experience of working within the Waste collection environment desirable.
Knowledge and experience within area of responsibility.
Awareness of health and safety.
Manual lifting and handling.
Skills & Abilities:
An effective communicator.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Awareness of working within the public domain.
Able to work to instruction and within set deadlines.
Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Willingness to work out of hours in emergency circumstances.
