Newly created opportunity to join a global multi-energy company. Working in a small tax function and reporting to the Tax Manager, this is a varied role supporting activity across multiple UK entities (upstream, gas & power, renewables).
The Tax Analyst will be responsible for preparing tax provisions and ensuring corporation tax compliance, including submission of corporation tax returns.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Corporation tax compliance – preparing tax returns, claims such as group relief and R&D, responding to HMRC etc.
- Tax accounting/provisioning – supporting monthly, quarterly, and financial statements reporting; supporting tax transparency reporting for group reports prepared by HQ.
- Tax advisory – providing advice on an an-doc basis on a range of issues as required by the business. Expected to include M&A, transfer pricing advice/documentation, reviewing tax clauses in legal agreements and contracts, tax instalment payment estimates, SAO, etc.
- Preparing CT returns in a timely manner, to ensure submission prior to statutory deadlines.
- Providing accurate and proactive tax advice in a timely manner.
- Working with a broad range of finance and commercial colleagues, based in Aberdeen and elsewhere.
The ideal applicant will have:
- Relevant professional qualification – CTA, ACA, CA.
- Minimum 3 years’ work experience.
- Good knowledge of tax accounting and compliance, experience of advisory.
