The Arthur Terry Learning Partnership is a highly successful Multi Academy Trust (MAT) encompassing 6 secondary schools, 14 primary schools, 1 all-through school, a Teaching School Hub, and School Centred Initial Teacher Training provider. Our schools are based in North Birmingham, Tamworth, Lichfield, North Warwickshire and Coventry.

Core Leader of MFL

A vacancy for a Core Leader of MFL has arisen within our Multi Academy Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and outstanding practitioner to join the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership and work in one of our schools.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic department of passionate linguists with the support of keen subject leaders. The languages taught currently are French and Spanish with over 80% of students choosing at least one language at GCSE. In addition to this both Spanish and French are offered at A-level with the department enjoying large A-level cohorts in recent years.

The department is focussed on reducing workload and raising standards though meaningful collaborative planning but our teachers still have the freedom to adapt lessons to their class and teaching style. Conti style activities embedded within the department.

In addition to benefiting from leading an excellent team the successful post holder will also benefit from regular CPD with other Head of Department from across the trust as well as access and development from the new language hub which is based at the Arthur Terry North Birmingham Teaching School Hub.

Finally, the post-holder will benefit from having an SLT that values the importance of languages and is supportive or its continued development and elevated status within the school curriculum.

Salary: MPS/UPS plus a TLR1a of £9,272.00 pa

Hours: Full Time, Permanent
